Top 10 things to do with children in East Yorkshire

If you’re looking for things to do in East Yorkshire with the kids this is the article for you. We’ve put together a list of some great places the kids are bound to enjoy (all mum and dad approved).


This is the ideal place to let your children roam free and play. The outdoor area is huge and filled with underground tunnels (through little hills), large sticks to build dens, tire swings and teepees where you can sit and have an award winning ice cream or a packed lunch. There’s also a sand area that will keep the kids entertained for hours.


Inside there’s incredible adventure play and a restaurant serving delicious, locally sourced food.

Go back in time and experience life over the last 200 years. Ride a carriage, jump on a tram and walk down a 1940s high street. If you want to distract the kids and enjoy a bit of nostalgia this is the place for you.

3. One Stop Golf (ages 4+)

There’s pirate adventure golf, foot golf and a driving range (for older kids). One Stop Burger is great for a bit of lunch too, with delicious burgers and kids meals. They also do kids parties if you’re looking for something a bit different.

4. Bondville Model Village (ages 0-12+)

This miniature village is hidden in Bridlington on the Sewerby Cliffs. Each home has been handcrafted and you get to walk amongst the village to see the villagers going about their daily lives.


There’s even a marina, abbey and Thomas the Tank chugging around the track.

5. Bridlington (all ages)

On a sunny day nothing beats a trip to the beach! Bridlington has everything you need for a great day out with the kids; great beaches, pirate ships, arcades, a seafront funfair and - of course - fish and chips.


This is mini golf taken to the next level. The holes are themed with different interactive elements that will delight the kids. So grab your putters and a scorecard for some serious family fun.

This place has rock climbing (for ages 4+), special toddler climb and play sessions (for 5 and under) and a soft play centre. With over 70 ways to climb your kids won’t get bored of this place. It’s suitable for all levels of expertise and no prior experience or equipment are needed.

If you have dinosaur mad kids this is the place to take them. It’s the only interactive dinosaur experience in Yorkshire and it lives up to expectations. You can touch, see, hear and even smell the dinosaurs! Plus the price is decent too.

This aquarium is fun for all the family. You’ll get to see lots of different sea creatures including sharks, huge turtles and jellyfish. There’s even penguins having a splash about. The cafe serves tasty dishes and offers good children’s options.

10. The Secret Village (ages 0 - 6)


This role play centre boasts 10 areas for your little ones to enjoy. They can become firefighters, performers, vets and construction workers. After their hard days work they can relax in a cottage, nip to the supermarket or the local bistro. Perfect for developing creativity and imagination. There’s also a cafe where you can grab a coffee.
